Roven is an offspring of the famous American thoroughbred sire Lefty, the Argentinian sire Pretencioso and the Irish stallion Samos III xx. The family tree of Roven goes back to 1890 and shows a lot of winners. The stallion Roven is an elegant, long-ligned throughbred stallion, with big and powerful movement. Roven is a type of throughbred stallion that conforms to the KWPN standards. Roven himself showed a lot of talent as a showjumper. Roven was born in Chili, out of a very strong damline. He was exported to the USA as a young horse and there he had an excellent showjumping career with the famous American rider Geoffrey Welsch. Roven was very successful in 1999 in the High Preliminary Classes (1.50 m.).
He won at Lake Placid, Old Salem, Clement Sartoga, New York and the Attitash Equine Festival in New Hampshire.. His co-operative character and his ideal mouth, makes him very suitable as a sire for dutch mares and warmblood mares in general. Roven will make a significant contribution to the KWPN breeding program, because of his excellent and classic way of jumping and also because of his conformation, which is desired by the KWPN. Therefore Roven is the type of thoroughbred that is so much wanted by the KWPN breeders and he can give the Dutch mare population the necessary injection with his famous throughbred bloodlines. Roven xx performed excellent with Peter Geerink in the 1.40 m. jumping. Foal crop: Roven xx received a very praiseworthy foal report from the KWPN jury.
